In this video course, you will meet a remarkable coffee farmer from Northern Nkoranga, Tanzania. Since his youth, he has transformed his parents’ land into a thriving organic coffee farm. His vision and wisdom have not only brought success to his own farm but have also inspired the local community, with many neighbors now following his lead and planting coffee. Together, this community of farmers is growing stronger, creating a model of sustainable farming and mutual support.
Throughout this course, our farmer will guide you step by step on how to start and maintain your own organic coffee farm. You will learn essential practices, such as:
- Preparing the land for coffee farming
- Key considerations when starting a farm
- Natural pest control methods to protect your crops
- How to care for the Arabica coffee tree, ensuring it can thrive for over 100 years
For those interested, the opportunity to visit the farmer and the community in Northern Nkoranga is available, where you can witness firsthand the impact of their work and the growth of the region.
At Changelis, we are committed to supporting this community. We are involved in several projects, including:
- Building a bio-garden at the local orphanage to provide fresh produce for the children
- Facilitating a school exchange program between three schools in Germany and the local school in Nkoranga
One of our primary goals is to build a well that will provide the community with a reliable water source, reducing their dependence on government-supplied water, which is restricted to hygiene and drinking purposes only. The well will ensure that farmers can irrigate their crops, which are vital for the community’s food supply.
We kindly ask for donations to help us complete the well project and bring lasting change to the farmers and families of Nkoranga. Your support will make a real difference in the lives of this inspiring community.
